TRP Consulting scores with Premier League call-up

TRP Consulting has been appointed to the team looking to deliver a new state-of-the-art training complex for Huddersfield Town – the latest in a series of sporting wins for the leading structural engineering specialist.

The practice will work with sports stadia expert Frank Whittle Partnership (FWP) on the multi-million-pound expansion and development plans for the Premier League football club’s first team training facilities.

The Huddersfield Town project will see TRP’s engineers working on the PPG Canalside development, which will provide facilities such as a hydrotherapy suite, new changing rooms and gymnasiums, medical treatment areas, media and commercial zones, staff office space, dining and social spaces.

There will be an additional state-of-the-art turf pitch to go with the two turf and one 3g surface that already exist at the West Yorkshire club’s training ground complex.

A dedicated U18 and U23 facility will have changing areas, gymnasium, offices and classrooms. The proposed complex will also provide a five lane 30m running track, a covered viewing stand, moveable video wall, audio/visual video equipment and a warm-up area.

Geoff Wilks, director at TRP Consulting, said: “The development aims to deliver state-of-the-art training facilities for Huddersfield Town and represents a large-scale investment for the club as it looks to attract and retain top footballing talent.

“We are delighted to have been appointed to the project and look forward to playing our part in successfully delivering it.

“It is the latest in a growing number of major sports projects we have been involved in across the UK, from helping to create cutting-edge training facilities for football clubs to successfully engineering racecourse and stadium development work.”
