New Cheshire Business Park is located with a predominantly rural setting. The site was formerly operated as a salt works. Historically, facilities on the site comprised an office block, a workshop, chimneys, several water and brine tanks, tanks previously use for the storage of soda ash, caustic soda and gas-oil, warehousing, an electrical sub-station and a large salt/ brine processing plant. The majority of the former salt works was decommissioned and demolished and the site levelled after 2006. Three of the former buildings were retained to form part of the new business park.

The site has been partially redeveloped to provide industrial and commercial premises. TRP Consulting has provided consultancy services covering environmental, civil and structural engineering aspects.
