Iotech House, Preston

The redevelopment works comprised the demolition of part of the frontage of Iotech House followed by the construction and fit out of a new 3-storey steel framed research and development facility containing a range of laboratories and an entrance reception area set out in a generally square shaped arrangement fitted out to a high commercial standard.  Lateral stability of the frame is achieved by vertical bracing in 2 orthogonal directions at right angles to each other in the building. Vertical braced bays in conjunction with diaphragm action from the floor slabs and roof slabs achieves the overall building stability.  The development achieved a BREEAM rating.
