The Marine Engineering Building is a new purpose built teaching and training facility located at the existing college campus. The facility houses significant pieces of marine machinery incorporating high level access platforms, an electronically operated overhead crane and mezzanine classroom. The new building is located within a car park to the rear of the existing pool facility at the college. The gross floor area of the development is in the region of 450m² at ground floor and around 90m² for the mezzanine.
The college identified that sustainability was to be a key driver for the project and a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating was achieved.
