The Citadel, Stockport

This award winning development provides high quality residential apartments constructed behind a retained façade. The development is located within a conservation area and was ‘highly commended’ by the RICS. A steel frame supported on CFA piles provides the accommodation and restraint for the retained façade. The interior courtyard provides access via a steel staircase to an upper level access walkway that cantilevers from the main frame.

TRP Consulting were responsible for undertaking the initial inspection and structural survey of the building. Prior to redevelopment, specialist subcontractors were appointed to investigate ground conditions at the site to establish suitable foundations for the proposed building and to provide information on contamination settings within the soils.
